Where do you live, that this is a) an unusual sight and b) not cause for worry about insulation leaks, ice dams, and/or window casings that need to be replaced?

Ice is not unusual. The icicles are just pretty, not a problem (especially since they've mostly melted now).

The fact that our boiler broke today is more troubling.
