I've been thinking about my writing, and why I have had such a difficult time doing much of it. And I think I've come to a realization.

I think my problem is that I've been spending too much energy trying to write my stories, whether as prose or comic scripts. But, at my core, I'm not a writer.

I'm a storyteller.

So, starting tomorrow, I'm going to try a little experiment. I'm going to simply sit down, and tell a story. No research, no worrying about character names & background, just good old-fashioned yarn-spinnin'.

It might work, it might not. But I think it's worth a shot.

I also tend to get bogged down when I'm writing, mostly in details of formulation. Should I use this word or that? How should I write this sentence? Should this be one or two paragraphs?
